New this year.

Copy and paste post that Jim Sammons made at NCKA.  I gotta get myself one of those 11's for the river this year.

Thought you might like to see what is new out of OK

Camo Trident 15

Trident 11

Trident 13

Trident 13

Trident 11 & 15 Camo

Trident 13 notice the flat foot well and added foot pegs new on the T11 and 13 The 15 keeps the old foot wells.

Trident 11 loses the sonar shield but has the rod pod.

These new models should be in your shops by the end of July if not sooner.
I am off to Alaska in the morning so I will have little time to answer any questions about the kayaks.

Sweet an upgraded OK Caper.  I'm looking forward to seeing these in real life.

Those camo tridents are sweeeeet!! Really glad they upgraded the graphics too. Does this mean the Prowler is on the outs? Or are they just beefing up their line?

Figures... every time I buy something they come out with something better within a month or two.  I really wish my Prowler 13 had a rod pod- I almost got the Trident 15 for that reason.  Those are awesome nevertheless.  Maybe the new look will help draw in those that are still on the fence.

Any idea if the price structure will remain the same or are they bumping it up?

Every year in the June timeframe, OK comes out with their new kayaks.  Usually they are not available in quantities until August timeframe.  I always get asked if someone should wait to see what comes out next.  I always answer that if they do, they'll miss out on a bunch of great fishing.

I'm excited about these new yaks having known about them since last September.  Sorry I couldn't say anything about them until now.

Any idea on the widths of these models?

My fleet is currently a Big Game and a 13' Prowler... Hoping that Trident 13 will be a 30-32" wide boat that is faster than the Big Game but more stable and roomier than the Prowler.

Trident 13 is 13'6" long by 29.5" wide.  It weighs 60# and has a max cap of 425-475 pounds.

Trident 11 is 11'5" long by 30.5" wide.  It weights 54# and has a max cap of 350-400 pounds.

I think that 11 would make a great river drift boat.  It looks like the hull design is a more rigid edge like the Cobra.  Makes for more stability, but hurts like hell when it bangs into your shins on a surf launch.

Sweet stuff! Looks like the OK team is raising the bar. I'm going to have to paddle those before i buy anything. For now, my Native 12 is sweet for backwaters, estuaries, tidal creeks, lower rivers, and small lakes. But I'm going to need a good SOT before I venture out into less protected waters.

So far my shoulders and arms are responding positively to my paddling sessions. Paddling actually makes my lower back feel better, especially after 3 days of landscape maintenance. I paddled 7 miles yesterday, and woke up this morning with my lower back pain gone! Could feel it in my arms and shoulders, though, but a good feeling...not too overworked.

I want to be sure the ol' carcass can hold up before i take the plunge and throw down the big $$. Won't be till Sept at the earliest, anyway, as I already have too much going on to want to throw more gas on the fire.

Polepole, be sure to let us know when you have some that we can demo! ;D

Got my T13 and T11 today.  I don't have a chance to paddle them for a least a week though.    :-[

I must say, that T11 is going to make a good river craft!!!

You laugh ... but we were talking about a weekend trip in a couple weekends, and she does want to learn to fly fish.  How's the fly fishing over there right now?  You available to guide/teach?

Any word as to whether OK might implement the flat foot wells in the Trident 15 as well?

Paddling the Big Game and Prowler 13, might biggest dislike in the 13 are the molded foot wells.
