I've been looking for a camera mount that gets off to the side and stumbled on these at KFS. Pretty nifty, not tooo unwieldy, and yields a good shot. I'm thinking about knocking one off in PVC although it may not be stiff enuff. Any thoughts?

Very cool for those of us on our solo missions! May have to look into that. Looks to be a bit unwieldy but don't think there's any way around that.

The camera mount was an easy project with almost no cost at all.  The two links above have pretty much all the info on the set up, but if you need any other help, just let me know.

Here is  picture taken with the camera mount this spring.

and here is another one from yesterday morning.

Nice stiper there Dan.  Man I miss the East Coast some times.  That is an East Coast fish right?  I went to grad school in the mid-90's on Long Island (SUNY Stony Brook) and used to fish for bluefish and striped bass out of an old sea kayak all the time.  I was a big sluggo fan and loved casting into a big mixes boils of blues and stripers along the beach from the kayak.

Oh and the camera mount is pretty cool too.

Thanks Brian, yes that is an east coast fish.  That one was caught off of Staten Island and I had a great spring right in front of JFK airport as well.  It's pretty much all bluefish now but in a couple of weeks I will start hitting Montauk at the tip of Long Island for some great albie and striper action.

Jeez, I miss the LI at times, myself. My grandmother lived on the south shore a couple of blocks from the beach and right on Jones Inlet. I visited religiously, as long as she was alive. It's been 5 years, now, and I haven't been back.
