I think AOTY should me mandatory next year.  :)    Okay, maybe not... but I'd be interested in finding out what we can do to increase participation next year.

I'm planning on it for next year.

Gunna be expensive with needing a Washington fishing license, Washington's Natural Permit ( >:() (or $5 per trip),  Oregon fishing license, Oregon shellfish license, Hagg Lake seasonal parking permit (or $5 per trip), AOTY entry fee, derby fees, and bait.
Gunna have to start saving now for it! ;D

That seems to be a problem with living near a state border... if you don't get both licenses you can only fish half the area around you.

Isn't that the truth?

I know of some fun lakes up near the powerlines behind Ash Lake after you cross the Bridge of the Gods into Washington.  Deep, small but has some wild acting trout in there.  When I still lived in WA I would go out there and the trout would jump like marlin!  :o

Hopefully I'll get out to do some fishing with my Dad while I'm home.  I don't care if we just fish for panfish, it'll be good to do some father-son bonding.  If the weather is nice enough, I might be able to take my son Owen out with us for some three-generation bonding.

That'll be cool for Owen for sure!
Now that you spent the time to show him how to target fish, Gramps can show him how to catch the fish.  ;D
