They make very nice gear (at least their fly reels).  Looks like some sweet deals for anyone looking to get into fly fishing.

There's a thread talking about them over on Westfly (http://www.westfly.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=538975&page=1).  Apparently, they are Korean-made rods and reels from the same facility that makes Redington stuff (mostly pretty good).

I have heard that their fast action rods are on the brittle side.  They don't have the same kind of iron-clad warranty that Sage or Scott have.  Unless your a strong fly caster, a slow to medium action rod is likely better anyway.

I was looking to pick up a decent 8 wt reel at a good price.  Job done!

The GPX reels talk about tackling salt species.  So I ordered one.  I rinse off all tackle after a day on the salt.  I think it will work just fine.

hey, i remember these guys, i was given an old used rod of theirs as a kid... was too young to appreciate it then, but i remember it was a solid performer that held up well to the abuses a 9 yro can give to gear.

I wouldn't worry too much about whether their gear is salt compatible. If I recall correctly, they got their name for producing salt water tackle.

At those prices, I wouldn't sweat it either way.  Most full on salt-proof reels go for 3 times as much $$

Bought a 9' 5 wt from them last week that scored very high in a comparison test against rods in the $6-1200 range.  Gotta like those sales.

I purchased a two handed rod, and a couple of their reels when they were on sale.  Great deals and was very happy with my purchase.  The customer service was excellent and would not hesitate to buy from them again.

by the way, Albright currently has a massive fly sale going on right now.

looked like most were $11.88 a dozen for saltwater flies, some of them retailed for over $90. a dozen .
