Great Day @ Depoe Bay
« on: August 05, 2009, 06:09:03 pm »
Good seas and my day off finally came together. Headed out about 8 am, water surface was smooth with some big swells. Headed to the first buoy and started fishing. Fishing was really slow. Caught one bass on a jig and the ling and another bass on herring. Played with the wales for a while, had on come up about 40 feet from my yak. Trolled for a silver but no luck. Even with the slow fishing it was a great day to be out on the water. Note to you guys down south, wife wants to go down to Mill Bay Casino in the next 2 weeks (free rooms), so I would be able to fish Sunset Bay. It would be a Tuesday or Wednesday. Could use some info or someone to show the way.

Has a lot to do with where (how far offshore) the coho are.

Nice job Dave.

Someone will be around here  to go out with ya at Sunset i'm sure. I will probably be gone from the 14th on for about a week and pretty busy before that too, but i could sneak a few hours out if you come before the 14th. PM when the day gets closer and let me know.
See ya on the water..
