I stumbled on to another nice undocumented feature on these sweet little GPS/FF's

In the map mode, zoom to a level where you can see navigational aids, move the cursor over one of the boxed "T"'s to display the current tide level box (that and currents are the first two nifty undocumented features).

Now press the waypoint button "wpt" and you get a detailed 24 hour tide screen for that point, on that date, including sunrise and sunset times. You can also adjust the date, time, and place, but its a lot easier to adjust the place by the cursor as the list is VERY long.

it's funny that they didn't bother to put half of the features in the manual or in there marketing scheme...maybe they wanted it all to be a surprise to those who are brave enough to continue to press buttons without knowing the outcome...
maybe one day you are just going to press a certain combination of buttons and it is going to show a skull and crossbones and audio will come on counting down the time until self destruction  ;D

Not to hijack... but...   Friday out of PC my Eagle, which has tons of waypoints saved, think lings live here locations ;D, would not show them on the map.  I could find them stored as waypoints but for the life of me I could not get them to show up on the map page.  Any thoughts?

You got me on that one PP. :dontknow:  Guess I'll have to go try it out to see.

I stumbled onto yet another feature of these great lil ff/gps's.
(Hey I had to do something while not catching fish at the IFA last weekend )
::)

In the map mode, zoom out till you can see nav aids. Move the cursor to the closest tide box (boxed "T") and that displays the current level and whether it's on the rise or fall.

Press "exit" and the cursor will return to your current position.

Press "exit" again and the map zooms back to that nearest tide station. Actually, the cursor is just returning to the last position that you moved it.  It will go back to that position until you move it again.

Press "wpt" when your on the tide box and it displays a 24 hour tide table.

Don't know why they don't document these things :dontknow: but I'm glad I keep bumping into them. If I keep this up I'm going to have to write a cheat code book for it.

BTW: If you don't want to waste time on the water fiddling with the durn FF,  you can download an emulator from Lowrance and piddle with it all day at work instead. :D

Just hope I don't find the combination that makes it flash red and starts the countdown   :o

Ouch! Nothing like a little salt in the wounds there, huh?

That's okay, I found the damn drive.

It just came with a $485 ransom.

If I were to play around with my Eagle Cuda 250/350 with the transducer attached (while the boat is out of the water) would this hurt the unit?? ???
I do have a foam puck that would be holding water.

Thanks

Chuck

It shouldn't be a problem, but it's a heck of a lot easier to download and run the emulator (and it's free)

The emulator does not have your waypoints in it though.

Noggin Yakker had this problem because it somehow decided to go into Man overboard mode which displays a MOB simple where ever the action was triggered and eliminates all other way points on the display...or at least as far as we can tell it does...Not sure if he ever got it to go out of the mode or not...maybe he will chime in on this one...

I know that this is the way it works on humminbird models.
