Rory, On the chart you posted, is the green an actual island, if you know? Looks pretty good right in that channel off the launch and with a good low tide might get some concentrated there.

Oh yeah, there's good fishing just a few paddle strokes from the launch. ;) During the crab feast I noticed that area does stick out at low tide.

From what I saw, at low tide, over half the bay is mud.

Good! bring 'em closer to us, just glad it's the west side that drains and not the east.

All you people who are on the fence, Wake Up!

Zee has managed to secure a heap of awesome prizes for this event.

Also, for those of you concerned with the safety of the venue, worry not.  Young's bay sees no commercial shipping traffic, has minimal PB fishing traffic, is sheltered from the wind waves of the B10 area and still sports a ridiculous number of "Rogue Bright" Chinook.

All you "newbies"; This is your best opportunity to rocket up the learning curve and learn the techniques which can put estuary salmon in your yak.

I'm in, paid up, ready to rock it.  I was going to spend this weekend scouting the area, but one of my friends has finally shown interest in tuna fishing, so this weekend will be dedicated (hopefully) to catching, carking, canning and probably eating tuna by the pound.

I may drag my mom along and have her work her camera, as well as letting her explore outside of Portland.
