Trying it again...Getting a group together to go to SR on Saturday. Looks like some great conditions comimg up, maybe we will finally get some semi-glassy water. That would be nice!

You talking about the north side of Cape Arago? or somewhere else? I wouldn't launch at the north side of Arago, too rocky and too close to the seals., don't think the state would like it either.

Or are you talking about the little cove below Shore Acres?

Yes, that's the spot. The sandy beach down there. It is, of course, illegal to "harass wildlife" & the state gates the paved path when the seal pups are on the beach, but it's public access & people still go down there. The state puts signs up because they don't want knuckleheads pestering the pups. Shore anglers & surfers use it, why not us? The seal haul out at Shell Island & adjacent rocks is a protected area & can be avoided by turning slightly south & looping around the main rocks. I'd like to fish these wash rocks just south of Simpson's. Perhaps launching from South Cove would work on the right day.

By too rocky, do you mean too shallow for a Hobie?
