Anyone familiar with the current harvest regulations? I'm too lazy to look them up.  ;D

COLUMBIA RIVER MAINSTEM, Buoy 10 Line upstream to the Tongue Point/Rocky Point Line:

Effective August 1 through August 31 (or until the chinook harvest guideline of 12,500 fish has been reached), this section of the Columbia River is open for adult chinook (greater than 24 inches), adipose fin-clipped adult coho (greater than 16 inches), and adipose fin-clipped steelhead. The daily bag limit is two adult salmon/steelhead in combination, only one of which may be a chinook. The retention of chum and sockeye is prohibited. During September 1 – December 31, this area will be open to the retention of adipose fin-clipped coho and adipose fin-clipped steelhead. All other permanent regulations apply.

just talked to a buddy of mine fishing down there and he watched a guy get a ticket for having a chinook jack today.  There also some big coho around so make sure you can tell the difference between nooks and hoho's

I'm heading down Thursday evening.  Is there anyone else fishing Friday?  Roy?  Also, we still BBQing Friday evening?  I am staying at Kampers West.  I'll be in a silver VW eurovan camper, with a hobie kayak strapped to the top.

Looking forward to it!

If you stay inside Young's Bay, you can keep 2 Chinook and 5 Chinook Jacks.  Just make sure you can tell the difference between the Coho and Chinook!

Quote from: ODFW 2010 Summer and Fall Columbia River Seasons
Select Area Recreational Fisheries, including Young’s Bay, Blind Slough, Knappa
Slough

Open for salmon and steelhead angling as under permanent rules.
The daily bag limit is 2 adipose fin-clipped adult salmon or steelhead in combination

OK, so how do you tell a chinook from a chinook jack?

the Young's bay select area is south of the 101 bridge so does that mean a different location code on our harvest card if we are north of the bridge

astoria is code 1
bouy 10 to tonge point is 211
I cant find a code for youngs bay

These regs are confusing.  For Young's bay it doesn't say anything in the special regs about keeping one non-adipose fin-clipped Chinook like it does for other areas.  Under the permanent regs it indicates that Youngs bay is open for fall Chinook salmon Aug. 1-Dec 31, but still does not mention anything about fin clips.  Does this mean we can keep 2 Chinooks regardless if they have a fin or not, or can we keep one adipose fin-clipped and one non fin clipped Chinook or two fin clipped Chinook?
