Help....Fishy camping lake needed
« on: September 02, 2010, 11:27:48 am »
Hola Anglers,
I know its last minute and all, but my buddy and I are thinking of taking our family's camping this Sat and Sun and looking for something new. Does anyone have a suggestion for a nice fishy lake that's within 1-2 hours of Portland? We're looking for any lake options that have descent tent camping with good kayak launching options. We are bringing lots of bikes, 2 Outbacks, 1 fully rigged Adventure Island(wind permitting) and a T13. Fishing and camping will be our main objectives. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Brother, it's the last big weekend of "summer" and you'll be hard pressed to find a location that isn't full.  If you were further up this way I'd recommend some alpine lakes in the Gifford Pinchot.  Hope you find something, and get some good pictures!

I hate to say, but unless you have someone in your party that meets ADA requirements you're pretty much screwed this late in the game.  :-\

I should have known better. I figured it was worth a shot. You're both right though. I'm a little late to the punch. Anyone have a secret lake they would share with a brother? It may end up just being a couple day trips. Maybe one with the family and one with w/out. Anyword on Hagg lake? I've personally not had much lake time her in the NW, but still looking. At this point any idea's are worthy.

Hagg Lake is always an option as it does have fish.  Catching them isn't my specialty this year though.  :'(

Oregon recreational areas are NUTZ on Labor Day week, and I avoid most if not ALL on purpose.
