$30 test is cheap insurance compared with painful persistent symptoms.

Very nice, Allen.  I saw some of the Aquahunters down at Ho'okena last January and spent some time down at the black sand beach near Naalehu where I saw some great local powerboat action for tuna up to 80 pounds.  Wild place - I'd love to get on a yak over there.
The Outdoors is a place where we can discover ourselves, share with others, appreciate Nature, and grow into better people.  Or...  we can focus on killing, hoard the good spots and hot bites, take Nature for granted and abuse it, and allow our ego's to dominate us.  Some will fall squarely at the extremes of my descriptions, and nearly all of us have experienced aspects of either extreme.  For me, it's about recognizing where I am in regard to that spectrum and making necessary adjustments.

Hey gang.. sorry it took so long to get back on line Allen.. i finally figured out what was holding me up from logging into the site and it was not just my cookies.. anyways i am back.. I think i still have some water shots of kona around of you and your fish.. I will try and post them here soon..

JFYI Ulua start at 10 lbs and over... this is the common rule in the Hawaiian islands and south too.. but some on the BI,  because there are so many ulua there, say that Ulua are 20-25 pounds and over..

the fishing in the aqua hunters 2011 makahiki is going off this year.. if you have not checked it you need to.. all ready 2 sail fish were brought in.. lots of shibi and big ulua.. this year in Hawaii is shaping up to be a really good one.. on a recent outing i caught 100 lbs of  fish on 2 double strikes resulting in 2 ulua, an amber jack and a uku (grey snapper) all over 25 pounds.. i was back on the beach by 9:30 am.. so stoked...

also this year i will be holding my 3rd annual Paddlers Papio Open... August 13, 2011 this is a papio fishing tournament open to any kind of human powered water craft.. we will be giving away $2,500 of cold hard cash.. $1,000 dollars cash goes to the biggest papio 9.999999 lbs.. my doors are open to mainland travelers looking to get in on  the action.. i have extra kayaks to use, and big house with a huge yard..  don't hesitate to hit me up. i will post the official flyer here soon.

Hey, Boogie, looks like i missed a great tourney... glad to see Chris Won it.

Guys, I actually got to participate in the '09 APPO and Boogie and crew laid out the red carpet [and red FnD ] for me, a total stranger. i dint have a clue as to what i was really doing, and stayed close to Hale'iwa, (gawds, Ji Fay would kill me for the bad spelling) but those guys get some serious salt under their boats!! How bout 3 miles out and at least 5 from start point?

Yes i still talk about it, cause they are great people !! You get the chance to go, take him up on that offer!!As someone else said, they truly do have the Spirit of Much Aloha
