Aldercreek paddle festival
« on: April 11, 2011, 09:22:41 am »
Its that time of year again.  Does anyone know if we plan or was asked to have a booth at the Aldercreek Paddle Festival  April 30th thru May1st.

If so do we still need volunteers to come help.

I usually get asked by Alder Creek to have a boot there, but that hasn't happened yet.   Maybe it's time I ask them.

Hopefully it will happen and yet it would be nice to have a few volunteers.  I believe the Festival is the last weekend in April.  (Apr 30/May 1)

Looks like last year they didn't ask me until mid-April.

Count me in for 1 of those days Brian.  Probably Saturday but I'll lock it in with you later.

Marilyn!  Glad to see you back!   ;D

Might the lack of invite have anything to do with the exodus of one Nanook?  I had fun doing this a few years back.  I may be able to make the second day.....

I remember the Paddle Fest waaay back when!
That was were I stood up Allen on our first date. :love7: :love8: :love7:
Spring was in the air and there was some nasty bacterium that was supposed to close the lake. We were supposed to fish the Channel on Sauvie Island,,, and I flaked.  >:D

He did do a pretty entertaining yak fishing lecture though and drew a crowd. Most of the paddle folk there still looked at him as if he had three heads though.

Now you've gone and done it ::)  Probably called down the wrath of the paddle gods by mentioning He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

Let me get this straight, N, gets kicked off the boards for threatening someone, which was all the result of a fight about being 'insensitive' about a guy who got himself killed, which NOBODY on this site knew, at all... but it's not insensitive to continue mocking him after he's gone?

Neat.

Uh, didn't mean to mock or anything.  Just thought he was the point of contact for NWKA's relationship to Alder Creek.  Sorry to stir things.  Back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Note my second post on this thread... I didn't get the "invite" last year until mid-April.   I'm sure it's still on its way.

A more relevant question is why Alder Creek doesn't seem to carry Ocean Kayak any more.    >:(
