Last Friday I launched at Kelly Point Park in Portlandia with DTS for a little sturgeon action (and we did get very little action :P just a couple little ones).  I had just put a new soft top on my vehicle because I suspected people were starting to notice my ghetto fixes to it.  Also, I was afraid I would be banned from George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego the way it looked.  Anyways, upon our return to the vehicles, the first car in the lot had its driver's side window smashed.  I was really worried my brand new top would be slashed. Luckily, nothing was done to it.  It makes me very hesitant to go back to that part of town again.

That, and when I launched there Saturday morning I think I got a contact high from a couple bankies.  They asked about the yak, I talked for awhile with them and gave them a few sturgeon fishing tips. They made a comment about how the cup holders on my Yak must make it easy to drink beer.  I said yes, but I had forgot to pack some (I am really not a big beer for breakfast kind of guy).  Anyways, one of them said , "well have some of this." I said, "sure, thanks," while my back was still to him.  As I turned to get what I thought would be a PBR or something, I was surprised by him holding a partially smoked, hand-rolled cigarette containing green plant material.  I can't say for sure what it was, but I felt it best not to accept.   I graciously thanked my new friend, realized what the funny smokey smell was (it was early, ok), launched the yak and headed for the safety of the main shipping channel.

You don't have to worry about them unless you left a box of doughnuts on your seat.  I'm sure they didn't move from their spot in the entire time you were gone.   ;D

Knock on wood [taps head with knuckels] I haven't had any vandalism problems while out fishing.  Did have problems in my driveway, and apartment parking lots though.  It was only ever my Honda Civic though.  And it was bone stock.  Lost 3 $40 Walmart CD players out of that car.  It was only outright stolen once (got it back the same day).  All of those problems were in Wichita and Phoenix.
