Saturday, just keeps on getting better.  Thanks to Pelagic Paddler the snack yak is getting replaced with a BBQ sled.

We should have hot burgers, dogs and sides plus hot and cold drinks.  I will have the sled anchored over some good water and will be fishing and flipping burgers.  If folks are so inclined you are more than welcome to tie off to my sled and fish while enjoying a tasty lunch on Next Adventure in the process.  I can also measure any sturgeon folks may catch for the MBF tourney.

Sounds like an awesome time! If I bring my 9 year old grandson will he need an out of state license? Hope the weather warms up a bit.

This is getting better and better.
Pelagic Paddler is doing us a huge favor by turning his sled into our HQ and "Grill" right there on the river. I hope you guys like tasty burgers too. As if Pelagic Paddler's grilling isn't amazing enough, I also scored a case of Certified Angus Beef(CAB) 1/2lb all natural, "fresh", ground chuck Patty's.  Tasty!!!!
Cheers!

I am assuming we will have a massage therapist for battling an over-sized :) I am not sure I can fish in such cushy conditions and ever go back. I am joking around of course. I hope that this attracts some new folks to sturgeon fishing!  Congratulations to Jammer, Pelagic and Ndogg on coordinating and putting together a community effort of the type I have not encountered in 45 years of fishing. Of course up till now a shared bag of chips is the best I have been able to do.

I'm real bummed I'm going to miss this (I have a class on Saturday).  Hot food and drinks on the water what more could you ask for.  I'm sure your all going to have a great time.

I'm getting really pumped for this fishing trip. It's gonna be a blast.
Jammer,Pelagic Paddler, and ndogg---would you guys like some donations to help offset the costs you're incurring ? I'd be happy to help out as I'm sure others would be too.Maybe a black kettle for donations ? Just let us know....

I'll be coming down from Raymond on Friday---If anyone is having problems getting bait--I'm sure I can find some coming down I-5.Just let me know.....

I might have to bring some of Johnny's older cousin  ,a single Mr McClelland that I know well.
Life is short--enjoy everyday. We only get so many then we're gone.

Not sure about anyone else, but the outgoing tide starts around 6:30 that morning, so I was planning a sunrise on the water - which gives you a good 3 to 4 hours bro.  C'mon out.

As long as there is no ice in the west hills I will try to get to GR by 7:30.

Something to note for this coming weekend is that the river should be back down to summer flow levels (as compared to the last meetup).  The river should be about 5' lower than last meetup and the stream velocity (ft/sec) should be about 1/3 of what it was (.5ft/sec down from about 1.6ft/sec). Thus, if the higher water put you off last time, conditions will be a lot tamer (although a lot colder) this time. Not sure how this affects fishing, but you will not need as much weight to hold the bottom.

See you all out there.
