Now if I can get the ice on the water melt, I can start fishing.

Maybe this was answered for Kardinal_84, but what if Kenai_guy drilled an ice hole, dragged his kayak by hand from shore across the ice to the hole, sat in it, and fished.  Would fish so caught be eligible for AOTY?

If you do that, you will face public ridicule.  You really want to do that?

Maybe. I'd suggest a dog leash to tow it through the snow if you do decide to go for it  ;D

I need another dog to help me pull that beast of a toy across the ice.

I would think that a dog team pulling a kayak to the fishing hoe,  would be like a motor sail or mothership that take away from the "human powered" kayak aspect, no?  ;D

Okay who the heck is this Kenai guy without a profile pic?!?!?!?!  Seriosuly...lol.

I went K-12 in Kenai and my parents still live there.  Identify yourself DAMMIT!  Hahahaha.

Well if you entered, thanks for the donation!  But seriously, if you kayak fish let me know!  If you have done it for more than a year, You are way ahead of me.

Shouldn't give away my secrets but I am desperate to find other nuts who fish the area!

Check out guidesak.blogspot.com or my youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/guidesak

Would love to hook up with some folks who fish the area!

I'm not originally from Kenai.  I just moved up from WY last summer.  I am nuts and I do kayak fish.  I've been kayak fishing for about 5-6 years, but now I have the time and resources to do it more often with better gear.  I'll try and get a pic up.  With the huge fish up here we'll only need to catch a couple to win.

Tandem questions for AOTY.  I am simply asking for clarification, not because I have much of a dog in the race.

If two anglers are in a tandem, the individuals are not solely powering the boat.  Does this then mean the individuals have been aided by definition and any fish caught are not eligible?

If two anglers are in a tandem and one hooks a fish and the other nets it, does the fish qualify or not?

Demonick, amazing! I was just about to post this exact question since I have a tandem and prefer to fish with a buddy. Peddling a tandem alone is more work than a single (especially my battleship) but I can see how having two peddling might be easier or faster than peddling a single. Also, if you're anchored up and start drifting to fight a chromer or dino having another guy to steer and peddle is a definite advantage.

I DQ'd myself on first 2012 rainbow because I wanted my wife to get to net a fish.

Please let me know the rule for tandems ASAP as I'm fishing tomorrow.

I have no problem with two anglers on a tandem but you should at least have to net it yourself

If the other angler is my 9 year old grandson I should get a 3" handicap bonus! ;-)
