Is one of your traps a Promar collapsible? I saw some at Cabela's and they looked perfect for a Kayak.

One thing that has worked great for me is a cheap yoga mat cut in half and laid across the bow. Keeps everything from sliding around and when I pull up the pots I lay it in my lap and roll the pot onto my legs. Not flexible enough to do your yoga to get to the bow.

yes, the Promar collapsible traps are great but last I checked there are two versions:  closed netting on top that you open to get out crabs (bad) also one with half of the top hinged to swing out of the way so you can access inside (good).  I added 2# of stick lead to the bottom of mine and also added some lead to the entry doors (they can flip up and stick open).
