I'm really hoping for a repeat of last August. Here's a video I put together for Hobie with footage from last year. Over the course of the four-day weekend I brought a dozen fish to the kayak while fishing for less than about three hours each morning.  Cheers!

If that video does not get you excited for fall salmon, here is a monster from this year.

Here right now, taking a break from the brutal incoming tide. No bites yet, I think I got some legitimate passes in even though it's ripping, and the West wind is picking up. Only 4-5 other boats, haven't seen a net yet. Gonna work on the fish finder and try at high tide.....

Love this vid! The background music is perfect to fuel the stoke.

I think I've watched it at least ten times already... wait, make that eleven now...

Seems to be what I've been hearing lately too. I imagine it will pick up a little by next week. Or at least I hope it does...

Weather report says rain is coming Sunday night and Monday. Maybe that will bring in some biters. We can only hope so.

That's not the problem.  There is just a LOT, a LOT of bait, so much that whales are hanging out in the CR and feeding.

Well.......if that is the case----- Spots mooching technique should be "spot on ". Might have to give it a try on Tuesday.

The clouds of bait are there most years. The bait isn't necessarily why the fish that are there aren't biting. It thins out significantly as you move further into the river mouth. If the bait wasn't there I'd be nervous.

Yep, That..
