 ;D ::

  The Buoy 10 fishery will be heating up very soon folks . I know that a lot of old salts will be out there slaying salmon cause it is such a cool productive place to fish. And as always--- there will be lots of 'new' guys giving it a try. Come on out-- it is indeed a great place to salmon fish. But please... do a little homework 1st.
  Read or re-read a few of the topics on this sub-forum. It's not too much reading and someone new can gain a lot of information all in one place. We have a lot of experienced fishermen on this forum that are happy to share their knowledge about fishing here. And if you have questions -- please ask.
  In the July issue of NORTHWEST SPORTSMAN , Buzz Ramsey has written an article "Buoy 10 Primer" that is worth all of us reading. He talks about how fishing Buoy 10 is all geared around the tide. And I couldn't agree more.
  Check the article out and see if you don't agree. Hoping to see my kayaking family out there  this season.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Buzz Ramsey’s article in this month’s NWS magazine is an excellent read. Yes, this can be a fun time but remember you are fishing in one of the most populated & potentially dangerous fisheries in the PNW. I don’t mean to be the fun police & I’m not going to tell you to write your name in your underwear 3 times & to carry a rape whistle. Although, fishing there with the utmost respect, preparedness, & patience will help ensure everyone has a good time & returns home with great memories. Personally, I took a yearly guided trip to B10 & researched this fishery for 4 years before going in a kayak for the 1st time with an experienced veteran, Mark Collett. The great thing about this time of year is there are endless amounts of opportunities to get into trophy fish in relaxing & beautiful fisheries besides B10.
Hundreds of guides make their living here getting their clients into fish with fully loaded boats & sky high expectations. Every year more & more kayakers rush here with similar dreams of fish tales. People can get very territorial & opinionated about following an unspoken code of conduct here. With that said, there is a lot of very fishy water with many options for different skill levels, and not everyone has to flood to the same Shipwreck launch to get into them. Good luck & looking forward to seeing some of you guys out on the water.
