Anyone know who sets the date for the Barbie Classic or the NWKA Alaska Tournament and when will they post the dates to this site? Summer is around the corner and the schedule is stacking up quickly.  Really want to get out there on the salt again...fishing for stocked trout in Valley lakes  lately and the fillets are not nearly as good as just about anything from saltwater.

I'm going to try to make the the kayak demos/test drives in Homer next weekend; although I've got a great setup now that FERGY sold his Native to me! Plan is to hit WG on the way to or from the demo to attempt to bring back a few flatfish fillets!

Barbie will be July 14 week end if the weather is good if not it will be the next Saturday.  I hope we can get a good turnout and would love to see a 50 lb fish landed on a kiddie pole.

I haven't had much time this year to get this planed out .
Work has been crazy but I will have a few prizes for the top fisher persons.
The first place largest fish will get first place.
The 2 longest fish combined total length will win second place.
The smallest halibut will win third place.
I will announce the prizes later this week.

Count me in as well.  I've been lurking around here for a while, it'll be good to get out on the water with some folks!

Thanks!

I was looking forward to this tournament but tomorrow we are celebrating my son's Birthday so I'm going to have to pass on this year's Barbie Classic. I hope everyone has fun and stays safe!

We had a late night.  Looks like we will fish the last few hours of the derby.  Good luck everyone!
