Best Wishes to everyone for a Happy Thanksgiving Day.

Some in this elite group of seafarers just have all the fun, even on a holiday like this. Don't we all wish we could give thanks this way for being alive and able to capitalize on Mother Nature's bounty to share later with friends and family.

Trobak working on finding that first winter king slime to christen his new Outback on Thanksgiving Day off the Homer Spit. At this time he had one takedown and miss.

And just minutes after Kardinal_84 shot that photo of trobak I get another notice....Success, Perseverance pays off....8 to 10 pounder.

And another view of that tasty morsel.

Still plenty of daylight left and they are in the heat of the day!

T_Bird, glad you asked. These are usually used by spear fishers, whether free divers or scuba. So most dive shops and online dive stores carry them but usually for a premium. I don't know how much everyone else has been paying for theirs since it looks like most folks on this board are using them from AK to CA.

I just bought mine on eBay. Great seller that had a very cheap price, immediate and FREE shipping USPS.  $15.98

no kidding, we are getting soaked on the OR coast, beautiful weather and chinook!

OK K_84.....does this mean you are starting another streak?  ;D

You caught your Thanksgiving "turkey." I distributed winter king fillets to my relatives at dinner last night since none of them had ever eaten a feeder king before even though my cousins were born here.

Approaching weather looks ominous. Last night's NOAA Alaska weather said this is hurricane force in the Aleutians right now. Here is where it will be on Saturday. Very tight pressure gradients....high winds. Going to get nasty soon.  Batten down the hatches!!

Another option for the cheap kayak fisherman is to build their own stringer.  A 3' piece of 1/4" brass rod, propane torch,  vice grips, and a hammer is all you need.
