Looking to do the pre-race float-n-fish on the Nehalem launch at 10:00 pull out when we get there. Post up interest and it would be good if we can get enough guys that we can park a couple rigs down stream.

I'm interested, weather permitting. My car can handle handle two yaks. Float fishing? Trolling? Bank to bank? I'm guessing we'll be chasing steelhead.

Any reason for the Nehalem over the Wilson? ODFW seems to think the Nehalem's hatchery steelhead run is winding down. Just curious.

Edit: looks like rain is forecasted for the next several days. Will be keeping an eye on the river levels. Seems 5.5-7.8' at the Foss Gauge is what we want. (http://www.rivertrailoutfitters.com/The_Perfect_River_Levels.php)

I'm going to plan on being there, if the bad cold my wife has had for 2 weeks doesn't hit me this week. Where do you plan to put in?

I can haul mine plus one. I don't even care about the fishing, per se. I just want to learn that water for future idears.

Sounds like a good test run.

Only concern is the weather says it might snow along the pass. Will have to keep an eye on that.

Was looking at that, and then got my plan flagged for a Domestic Tranquility Violation. If the weather changes and things look to shift to Sunday, I might be back in.

Ok guys if your going to make this shoot me a pm with your email or phone # ( those that have mine can text or call) we need to get the parking and logistics figured out putting in off Foss rd just above the Miami Foley Rd bridge and pulling out in Nehalem. $5 fee at drop in and we can get 4 guys and yaks with my ride for shared fee at the drop in and no fee for parking at take out.

101 landslide is partially open today for those that might drop from the north... im talking to you surforegon! Anyone coming that I haven't heard from yet?

Meet up at H st and 101 in Nahalem at 0830 I'll have one yak on the trailer and plenty of room for gear as I'm bringing the big tuna for this trip.

I work plus with snow in the forecast, crossing the coast range may be interesting to say the least.
