Hi guys. Not much on talking about myself but here's my intro. I'm from northern Nevada, not Reno, real north. Could damn near spit into Oregon. So I cover a lot of southeast Oregon, idaho, and northern Nevada.

Really I've just become fond of untangling knots in small plastic boats.... that's the short of why I'm here.

Thanks!

I make fun of Denio a lot.  I randomly end up there sometimes.  Please tell me that I can actually meet someone who lives in Denio and use that to mess with my kids who laugh at me when we hit Denio Junction.

I also end up in Denio once in awhile, being from Klamath falls. Where do you fish in that area? We also like the desert to ATV. Will be going to the Steens in the spring.

I love the steens! But I mostly fly fish the donner & blitzen when I go that direction. I am actually from orovada. About the same size just a little south east of denio. Denio by highway is about two hours but if I blast back roads out through kings river valley it is really probably 20 or 30 miles line of sight. If you guys know denio, where highway 140 hits 95, I live twelve miles north of that.

Loreglas, I fish onion, blue lake, bilk creek, and duffarena ponds mainly in that area. I will go out and do catfish reservoir once in a while and dry creek up by lakeview.

Holy cow. Myfamily owned Denio Jct for about 20 years. I loved fishing Onion Valley Reservoir, Blue Lake, Big Springs and Alder Creek (i think). Also wildhorse Lake inthesteens and Trout Creek. Any of those stillwater fisheries still around. Last time i was there was 2008 and fished Catnip.. Cant remember the one that had tiger trout in it.

There are some gorgeous whitewater river canyons in Northwestern Nevada and Southwestern Oregon.  I've done two 8-day kayak trips on the Owyhee River from Duck Valley to Rome, a 6-day kayak trip on the South Fork and Main Owyhee from YP Ranch to Rome, and a dozen or so kayak trips on the Jarbidge and Bruneau Rivers.

I ran most of those rivers back in the 70s. Never got to the Duck Valley to Three Forks section.
The lake that had the Tiger trout, was thatcalled Knott Creek Reservoir?
Seeing those names 40 years later brings back some fine memories, especially the ones pf a bunch of college kids from Eugene, OR running the Jarbridge/Bruneau through the 1970s in Avon Redshanks

I do like that area... like an oasis in the desert. Good rock-hounding also.
