Is there any decent crabbing in Nehalem Bay?  Seems pretty shallow outside of the river channel.  I'll be down in Manzanita for a few days next week and I'm debating whether it's worth hauling down the gear from WA state.

I've had good luck there and not so good luck,   depends on hitting the slack tide just right.   Also,   when the river is high or flooding,  all the fresh water will push the crabs out towards the ocean,  where they can find good saltwater.   don't let the shallowness stop you, its more about conditions.   I usually crab down toward the bend.

let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,

that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Given the current conditions you might have better luck at Netarts.
