         Date:  07/13/2013
Location:  Depoe Bay
                Headquarters:  Chinook Bend Campground
http://www.chinookbend.com/

The good folks are Chinook Bend are excited to have us back.

*For those who choose other accomodations, there'll be no charge for stopping by to sign in or attend the Awards Banquet.

If you've never attended an ORC event, and especially if you've never been on the salt, you owe it to yourself to sign up.  It's like a riverside family reunion culminating in an ocean fishing contest and awards potluck.  There's usually a lot of gear and rigging-idea trading.  For those new to the ocean, there are many of old salts ready and willing to help out.

This is a Single Heaviest Fish tournament.  All entries must be weighed in before 2PM at the weigh in station. Targeted Species for this tournament are Lingcod, Cabazon, Rockfish or Greenling.

ALL COMPETITORS MUST:
- FILL OUT AND SIGN A WAIVER BEFORE HITTING THE WATER!  If you haven't signed a waiver, you're NOT competing.
- TOURNAMENT HOURS ARE BETWEEN 5AM AND 2PM, NO EARLY STARTS OR LATE RETURNS!
- LAUNCH AND LAND FROM DEPOE BAY HARBOR, NO EXCEPTIONS!
- WEAR IMMERSION GEAR APPROPRIATE TO OREGON COASTAL WATER TEMPS
- CARRY A SIGNALING DEVICE
- WEAR A PFD
- FLY A SAFETY FLAG
- PROPEL THEMSELVES TO AND FROM THE FISHING GROUNDS (HUMAN POWER ONLY)
- CARRY A VALID OREGON FISHING LICENSE
- CARRY AN OREGON INVASIVE SPECIES PERMIT
- ACTIVELY SEEK TO MINIMIZE IMPACT ON POWERED VESSELS (at the launch and on the water)
- FOLLOW ALL DEPOE BAY REGULATIONS FOR ENTRY TO AND EXIT FROM THE HARBOR DURING THE CONTEST
- FOLLOW ALL ODFW REGULATIONS APPROPRIATE TO THE AREA
- ALL FISH MUST BE AT THE WEIGH IN STATION BY 2:00PM
- ALL ANGLERS MUST CHECK IN AT THE WEIGH IN BOOTH AFTER THEIR RETURN (We will hunt you down if you do not)

- NO FISHING IS ALLOWED IN THE CHANNEL BETWEEN THE BELL BUOY AND THE HARBOR ENTRANCE!
 - SOUTHERN FISHING BOUNDARY = WHALE COVE
 - NORTHERN FISHING BOUNDARY = RABBIT ROCK

I'm sure someone would hook you up with a kayak if you needed Rudy.

I'm so in!  See y'all in about 8 weeks!

Just curious though, why the change to the North and South limits (there weren't any specified before)?

It's just a little clarification.  Also, when we file for permits, the CG and land cops like to know where we'll all be.

Kinda figured it was something like that.  I don't think very many people exceeded those boundaries last year anyway.  With the current like it was last year, I know I never got as far north as Govt Pt.  Possible, but I don't think I ever got south of Whale Cove.  Polepole could probably comment better he was mentoring me and he had a GPS; with the fog that would be the only way to know for sure.

   Thanks Jammer......

What an awesome list of sponsors. Definitely sign me up.
Will there soon be a pay-pal sign in opened up ?
I've got reservations already at Chinook Bend. They only charged $16 per night for tent camping.

Can hardly wait for this shin-dig to get started

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Wow - very cool!  Looks like I've got things arranged to be there - hopefully a day early to get some salt/bottom fishing lessons from some of the pre-fish crowd.  You guys have done a great job of selling me on this event.  And now that I see the prize/sponsor list, I may have to drag my son out there to see if he can pull off another NWKA tournament win!!!

Thanks,
Sam
