Imma plan to attend. I'm scouting out for tuna and halibut outings. Also descending devices for use on my kayak

It's a good one to go to. The Portland and Eugene sportsmen shows are better tho in my opinion.
2016 2nd Place Brownlee Crappie Shootout
2015 7th Place Boniville Bass Bonanza

PDX is much much bigger with a variety of displays including camping and other outdoor pursuits (way more than just fishing).  It's kind of overwhelming.  SSS in Salem is geared towards saltwater fishing (halibut, tuna, rockfish, crab, salmon).  I enjoyed one of my first SSS shows when Ron did a presentation about kayak fishing!  Rawk and Spot did a kayak presentation there one year too...I learn more from their clinics.

The SSS is a circle jerk for the ifish salty dogs IMO.

There aren't many vendors there that have not had a booth at the PNWSS in the past. USiA is one, and there may be more, but if you can only make one of the shows the PNWSS is a much bigger deal.

Pics or it didn't happen. Top is from SSS, bottom is from PNWSS.

Portland is February 8-12 and is the one that you really want to attend.

Tacoma is January 25-29.
Deschutes County (Bend) is March 2-5
Jackson County (Medford) is February 24-26
Lane County (Eugene) is February 3-5

There are 2 different promotional entities backing these shows OTS and Exposure. While all the shows are good, the OTS group has deeper roots and the PDX show dwarfs the rest. Which is why you will see more buckaroos in Portland in early February than any other time of year.

And I didn't take those pics in the post above, they came from their respective promotional web sites. I'm just relaying their info.

The portland show is Better than the Puyallup version, but seems to attract bad weather
