Wavewalk is now offering a new model of kayak.  There might be some discussion as to whether it truly qualifies as a kayak, but what ever it is, I can't wait to get our demo model in.

He designed it with the thoughts of someone sight casting from the front deck with a second person in the back paddling or motoring.  (think Florida flats) The stability and size of this boat and the ease with which it can be motorized is something I think will really fit the bill for some.

I will be using it for duck hunting (in the dark mud brown color).

Here are the specs.

Length: 13 ft (396 cm)
Beam (Total Width): 38″ (97 cm)
Cockpit Length: 95″ (241 cm)
Cockpit Height: 17″ (43 cm)
Saddle Height: 15″ (38 cm)
Width of a single hull: 13″ (33 cm)
Total Weight: 98 lbs (44.5 kg)

It is designed to handle 680lbs.  Kid in the video is the son of the designer owner, he is 170lbs.  It is a 6hp. motor.

Now it is finally on the water!

lol  I think it paddles a lot better than a pontoon.

The weight capacity has me thinking about those kayak deer and elk hunting trips that have been posted up on here.

Here is the owner being goofy in the boat.  Just demonstrates the stability of the boat.

I think it would go over good with the sailboat crowd as a dingy.  Light enough to haul up on deck, yet stable enough to handle some good chop from anchored boat to shore for provisions.  :icon_thumright:

I could see that.  The shape would make it easier to handle than many of the little skiffs they throw on their big boats.

The hull takes much of what was learned in the W700 (which is incredibly stable) and expands it a bit (both wider individual hulls and overall) and makes the saddle an inch taller which makes a difference in comfort.  I think if I used a kayak for bass fishing or the area I fished was a long haul from a launch, or even currents , the ease of motorizing might also be one of the distinct pro's.

Standing on the deck shooting arrows while someone in the back paddled might be a sweet application as well.

Shooting for that spot between boat and kayak.  Easy to motorize, easy to cartop, more stable than most boats of similar size and yet able to handle more weight and passengers than most kayaks.  I also think duck hunters are going to like this craft.   I know I am looking forward to it!

Just a couple of more videos that have come out on the S4.  Wonder how it would do in a surf launch with that motor?

I am loving the brown color for hunting!

Self bailing deck?   And will that 30HP (about 85lb) tiller outboard sitting in my shed be too much?   :banjo:

No it is not a self bailing deck and yep the 30hp would be too much. lol

I have two ordered up and heading my way.  One for demo and one for inventory. I am hoping to put a 6.5 longtail on it for duck hunting the mud flats, and we will see if I stick a trolling motor on it for fishing or just paddle. It is early in the process but the reviews on the boat are great.  I look forward to getting mine!

It can be a boat. This is my BIG brother on my dads wavewalk. Not the yak for me, but They are pretty bad ass. Before my dad put all the extra crap on it I paddled it. They track really well! And, even though they are not self bailing they don't sink. They handle the ocean good. They are really stable. Not too easy to right when capsized. My dad went end over end with this one going out on some huge surf. I had to help him right it and get back on. Bailing all that water warmed him right up!

That little 2 or 3 horse motor moves that thing pretty damn fast with my brothers big ass on it too.

Yeehaaa - I have yet to go in Big Blue, just stayed in the sound.  Still waiting until I purchase a drysuit.  Is that a W500 or W700?

If I am guessing I am betting that is a 700.
