So here are the rules which can change at any time based on further input.

The Tournament starts at daylight or in this case 4:45am.
The tournament will end at 6pm.

The winner will be the single largest halibut by weight.  If for some reason we don't have a scale large enough, we will go by length.

The timing means you get to hit the ULTRA low minus tide (minus 5.2) which is at 9:54am and if you don't catch fish by then, you can also hit the high tide at 4pm though you will have to stay closer to the launch.

With the bigger tides, the current will change fairly quickly after the shore high tide.

I wil be contributing a trophy and some fishing gear.

Aaron of 907 kayakers (https://www.facebook.com/907kayakers/) has graciously donated a $100 gift certificate from Sportsman's warehouse.

Ken Wake from Prepper's Pack (https://www.facebook.com/prepperspack.08/)has said he would donate items as well.

If anyone would like to contribute or know someone who will, let me know.  I will make sure they get mentioned.  I will also keep updating this thread with any new information or prizes.

The main focus is just a get together and bragging rights.

BTW - I love that 9:45 low tide. Don't have to worry about trying to get on the water at 6 (unless you want the current to take you south of Anchor Point) or some gosh awful time.

Awesome - the weather held, forecast looks good, and tide timing is excellent.    Packed, racked, and ready to hit the road.   Will drag the camper down and see what I can find for space for it, but planning to hit the beach a few hours ahead of LOW.   A few questions for folks:

1. Is anyone manning a beach station?
2.  Have we set a tournament radio channel ?

If you get a really early start - fish safe and I'll see you at the weigh in.   For sane folks on a later launch schedule - see you at the beach !

I'm bringing a couple of friends. They would be happy to man a beach station, I just don't have an extra radio for them.

No real station. My daughter will be near my truck and I have a 100 pound scale. Pictures and witnesses please!

Lets monitor channel 69.

Also I've had several people ask about motors.  Derby is NON MOTORIZED unless you have a disability.  This is just for fun with a few prizes.

Winner gets a trophy, Shimano calcutta, and a $100 gift certificate from Sportsmans Warehouse.

Second gets a handmade harpoon from RipNdrag and a $100 gift certificate to Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental.

Third gets a scotty orca rod holder plus a grab bag of goods from Preppers Pack.

4th and 5th gets a grab bag of items from Preppers Pack.
