I thought maybe it was a picture of the fish with your size 14 boot in the picture as a means of measuring...  [emoji3]

Dang Jed, you've got some serious swag lined up for this event but I'm still looking to take home a belt buckle!

Don't worry you will get your chance. Already have a donor for it but I'm getting an original BCS design to put on a buckle this year. Will post up when it's done.

I didn't go last year so this is a pretty simple question, but how does the event actually work? Is it just your total points as listed for as many fish as you can catch, with 1st place, 2nd place, etc.? Or are there different categories? Is it just one of each species or as many as you can catch?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Captain, last year the format was the total length of your 3 longest Crappie. I had enough prizes to give individual fish categories a prize. I am changing the format to points per inch this year because all the crappie were so close in size in 2016.

This year will be the total score of all species to determine placement.
Probably have 1-5 places depending on how many prizes I end up with. 1st place will get a table grab and belt buckle. 2-5 will have table grab. There will be a raffle this year to off set permit costs.

Example:
10 inch crappie =260 pts
20 inch Small mouth bass =200 pts.
5 inch bluegill =65 pts
0 LMB
0 Trout
0Catfish
0 Perch
Your total =525

Fish Points:                                         Points
Crappie                                    26
Other Pan-fish                         13
Perch                                        12
Small Mouth Bass                   10
Large Mouth Bass                   9.5
Trout                                        8
Catfish                                     6.5

I still have to finalize the scoring but this is close. Hope I answered your questions if not let me know.

That makes sense, thank you! So it is just your largest one of each species, correct? (Like AOTY)

Yup, that's exactly right. I will try to have something small for each category winner. I'm working on something right now and will post up if I'm able to swing it.
