Any recommended camp sites down there?  Hoping everything will clear out post Y2Eclipse mania.
Kayaking without wearing a PFD is like drunk driving.  You can get away with it for a while, but eventually someone dies.

I'm in the same boat since I've been dragging my feet.  Gotta find a place to stay for a few days.

It's a bit windy on the ocean. Me and Zach have been doing some hiking and some exploring tide water. We found some summer Chanterelles again. We haven't really fished yet. It looks like tomorrow morning could be ok for the ocean. We plan to shoot down to the Rogue at least one day this week, and maybe we'll hit the Umpqua for smallies if the ocean is crappy later in the week.

Holy crap its looking windy by MSW! I hope that changes!
I wouldn't have thought of brining light gear for smallies, but now I'm reconsidering. I just might join you on the Umpqua. I get camp set at the State Park on Wednesday afternoon in B26- right by the fish cleaning station. That is unless I stop to fish on the Umpqua on my way there!
Better to keep ones mouth shut and presumed a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Keep the faith.  Predictions for today were for 20MPH winds and what we got was 3MPH gusting to 8MPH.  Keep an eye on the NOS/CO-OP buoy data in contrast to MSW.
I expected the worst, but it was worse than I expected...
