Nice, I'll more than likely fish it. Working on getting the 13th off from work. Usually great fishing to be had around that time.

Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

Work screwed me for that one. Might hit whiskey not this weekend but the next. Should also be around for the seminar next month too.

I was told the road down to Whiskey Gulch was open.  I may go take a look this weekend.

This derby we typically catch a decent king.  Kings and halibut should be pretty good.  The hard part is making it down for the Friday auction.

So I read the official rules and it doesn't specify if there are different prizes for the kayak division?  It doesn't make since that we would pay only $25 and have a chance at winning the same amount as the boats....anyone have any input?

I tjink its because we dont fish multiple lines.  The kayakers could take advantage by entering a tandem kayak.  The people who get shorted are the single guy in a small skiff.  But most days on the anchor pt tractor launch, its a bigger boat deal.

I thought the same thing, and I think Rudy nailed it. The Calcutta registrations are boat registrations, as opposed to other tournaments/derbies that are fisherman registrations. I thought that was pretty cool once I figured it out.

This is one competition where we (tupperware fisherpeople) are not at much of a disadvantage. True, we can't pick up and run too a bite. However, we have equal access to prime ground.

I think I'm going to be able to make this one.
