Started fishing around 11:30 and drifted
South. We got a couple of hits but the 12 not hooks were to big. So we decided to try our salmon gear. Right after that in 50 feet of water we got our first halibut. Which was about 10 pounds. The water was super clear. And then as we were heading in, dad got his two halibut after the tides changed in 40 feet of water. His biggest halibut was 25 pounds and his other halibut was 10 pounds. And didn't mark any bait though.

I will add that i did not see the orange placards that mark the beginning of the Anchor River closed area.  Had to use my navionics app.  My eyes are that great though.

Started the tracking near the pin i placed on the map.  Thats approximately where the closure line should be.

Rudy which phone do you run your Navionics off of?  I looked at the compatibility with newer phones and they said they could not guarantee it is compatible.  I am sure it would be fine but I still want to make sure.

Thanks for the report, Ryu! Great job! I was in Homer yesterday with nothing to show for it. Guess it's that time of year for Whiskey Gulch.

pretty sure all of us would say that you have earned our support. And in many cases---- our admiration and even our envy. You have pulled in bigger butts than I have. My PB is 45 lbs.  Respect is earned---It doesn't come free. You are doing great. We look forward to many more of your adventures.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
