5 ft every 9 secs seems reminiscent of last week haha. I will keep an eye on the forecast.

Saturday looks like the best day. Launch will be sporty but waves should calm for a landing. I plan on being there bright and early.

We are down here now, waves aren't bad at all on the north end, but the wind is blowing fairly hard at the moment.  Hopefully the wind forecast for daylight is spot on, should be a good day.  We're in a white Tundra.

I will be in a red Tacoma parked in the right as you exit the ramp. Hope to be there around 530.

Got on the beach at daylight, there were a ton of Dorys launching so we gave them room and time since they were all launching where we wanted to go out.  The surf not right at the rip out was large.  Wind was minimal.  We got in the water about 6am.  Paddled out near Haystack.  My first cast with a pink sluggo landed me a 23" ling which I tossed back, it was skinny.  Caught some black bass on the next few casts.  My buddies found a good pocket of Lings right beside the rock.  It started getting really sporty and none of us were feeling great so we headed in as we watched some monster waves pounding at the surf.  We decided to head back in against the rip vs with the waves.  It may have taken slightly longer but was MUCH MUCH more manageable.  We were back on the beach by 8:20 with 4 lings, 7 blacks, and our stomachs still intact!  No other Kayakers out there, 1 paddleboarder, countless # of dorys.  One of my two buddies took a slow motion turn cycle some how, 2 of us back unscathed.  A good quick morning with some nice dinner.  Good luck tomorrow.

Quite the crowd on the beach today,  Whoa!
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

See you out there tomorrow.

Jimmy,

For a stringer, if you plan on catching larger fish like salmon, get a game clip. Easier to get a salmon on a you can easily get a limit of lings and rockfish on one, too. https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Fishing-Stringer-Spearfishing-Holder/dp/B01MA1U6RI/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1496029962&sr=1-1&keywords=game+clip

I have one of those pictured above. They are nice, too.  I use it a lot for other fish like trout and shad. A game clip is overkill for them.

Yeah i know about the big clips.  It is on my list of things to get.  The marine radio is next on my list though.  I hate not having one.  I have been lucky the last couple of times on the ocean that i could borrow someone's extra radio

So that's why your ling kept taking a bath.. :)  Didn't think about it at the time, but even my freebie jumper stayed on my big game clip.  One thing Mojo pointed out was to grind down the end to a point.  Much easier to use that way. The one I got was from ACK but it was blunt and not nearly as easy to use in rough water until it was pointy.
Kayaking without wearing a PFD is like drunk driving.  You can get away with it for a while, but eventually someone dies.
