longer video here starts with my 'sit-down-paddle' test on the water and includes cutting the drive hole and finishes with test installing my V2 and GTT drives.  It feels really solid and no issues installing the drives one-handed while holding a GoPro in the other hand...

this shorter video shows just the drive well fixtures and installing the GTT:

all the wood drive well pieces need to come out one more time for dark stain/spar varnish after some sanding for appearance, then they get installed permanently using marine epoxy and the SS screws, and I still need to run some spectra steering lines to an i11s style controller that mounts on the seat...then comes the big test at Munsel.

Crap, I was scared watching the first video when that sawing noise started.  That's impressive to say the least and hoping it's pretty scooty and stable on the water.  At least it will be easier to slide a 100 butt onto the deck.  The second phase with a big fish might get pretty neanderthal ish!

Looks nice. Are you going to add a clear coat epoxy on the screws to keep them secure and protection from elements?

I was not planning that, all the screws are SS and they should get some epoxy on them during the final install, so I would expect them to stay in place...

That's awesome!  Well done, sir!
Kayaking without wearing a PFD is like drunk driving.  You can get away with it for a while, but eventually someone dies.

You put a lot of thought and work into this, Roger, and it came out mighty sweet.  Can't wait to see the video of your sea trials.
I expected the worst, but it was worse than I expected...

thanks guys, the tough part for me comes next-  taking that whole drive well area apart, bit more sanding, staining, varnishing, and then re-installing each piece with epoxy top and bottom, then adding marine sealant 'caulking'...I WANT TO HIT THE WATER NOW!    ;D ;D ;D

I expect to have it on the water just after the holiday weekend...

My favorite part of the whole thing are the sawhorses (ie, car and hitch rack).  That and having the courage to make the first hole in such a nice board.  Love the tinkering. :)
