 Hi all,
I live on Quilcene Bay, at North end of the Hood Canal.
After an extended hibernation, my inner fisherman has reawaken ed!
That's the good news. The bad news is, I am nearly clueless as to how to fish these waters AND, I paddle one seriously skinny boat! It is a 22" wide Valley Pintail. It is a very low volume Greenland style sea kayak. No rudder. No rod holder. Not much room for anything but my skinny butt! This going to be an adventure, for sure.
Just dumped two accounts yesterday so I will have more time to fish but, less money to throw at it.
I have a Chinese Lamiglass. Cascade Pro B86 MHC. Looking for a screaming deal on a suitable reel and, short-handled net.
Starting tackle is a Pro-Troll Pro chip 8 flasher behind a 3banana, followed by a Wally Whale salmon fly. Set up was recommended by a local for Coho.
Would enjoy hooking up with some other yakkers. Especially those paddling conventional boats.
Watched Todd Switzer killing them on Tube. Contemplating what mods to do. He has built a pvc/net flatbed for the aft deck. Worried about landing a fat boy, if I get so lucky, on such a narrow boat but, at least after watching him, I know it can be done!
Tell me what you think.
Sure glad I found this site!
Cheers!
