I've been looking at the Bote Rover and wondering if it would be useful around here.  Most of my favorite fishing spots are 10+ miles out from the closest point on the road, and taking something without a power source besides yourself could be asking for trouble.  Curious to know the good, bad, and ugly about these things.

They look awesome. Might even be able to Dipnet from it. I guess you would have to pick your days to take it out of Cook Inlet. I know it would be awesome out at Whittier. I’m thinking of putting an outboard on my kayak.

You're right about the inlet, but I mostly fish out of Seward now.  Less bad weather days and more variety.

Yeah. Only thing I would be worried about is if your 10 miles out and lose your gas or motor breaks wouldn’t be fun to paddle back. I was out by myself launched from lowell point about 8 pm was just gonna fish tonsina creek area for silvers. I heard they were out by Caine’s went ahead and paddled out. It got dark quick paddling back from Caine’s to Lowell was pretty scary in the dark. Won’t be doing that again.
