Did we ever decide on an "entry fee" for the Barbie Classic?
And is there any interest in frying the winning fish? If so I will bring the potatoes and fryer.

Cooking up fresh fish is ALWAYS welcome.  I know Mak and AKfishripper had some tasty fish fried up last time I saw them!  YUMMY!!

Yep if I catch 1 we can fry it up. I gotta break in a new kayak I'm hoping to get the first fish next weekend on the 155. I need to get some parts made for it today I still haven't got a rod holder yet. I'm building a longtail for it today but I won't use it in the tournament. Unless you guys let me.

Hmmm .   Refer to RULE #1.

BUT If you all want to include motor kayaks, I'll try to rope in Larry and his Mokai's.   If Motor kayaks remain out, for purposes of the tourney, then I'll try to convince him to take his Mokai and be the official photographer for folks on the water.

I am still IN either way if the weather is good!

Very little advantage with motor at WG WITH a Barbie rod. Not enough line to fish deep.  The only reason I wouldn't allow it would be safety. Not because they are unsafe but in competition mode, I wouldn't want anyone pushing it beyond their capability going too far offshore. THEN it becomes dangerous.

I will bring the fryer, oil, and beer batter. Just need somebody to bring potatoes and onions for a classic fish and chips meal after a long hopefully productive day of fishing.

I'll have my grill and some hot dogs as a contingency plan... Hopefully it doesn't come to that though.

Ah the Mokai.   Great idea.  Fun to drive around.  Needs lots of mods to make fishable - no rear deck!  As far as paddling, though.... ,

1.  These things feel 'deep'/   I think if you needed to paddle any distance or against the wind, you would need to shift the seat pads and get up on your knees on them to be effective.  the seated position is uncomfortable for me to paddle for anything other than to clear the surf zone, and I am about 6' tall.

2.  Weight of boat is 220# or about that, so figure you would be pushing 100-120# more weight when paddling.  Profile is higher above the water, so will kite more int he wind.  Yeah - if you are just paddling, you could leave the motor out, saving 20# or more, and gaining rear storage for a milk-create fishing box., but still tall and heavy.

3.  Catch a wave wrong on landing... it breaks into your cockpit if you dont have the skirt... and you are (literally) sunk.   Try dragging that huge filled volume up the beach!

Doable in fair weather, but a long way from ideal!

I was planning on filling a party pig from Kassiks to bring...IPA?....also my wife said she was gonna make some random side dishes. It'll be good whatever it is, she's a great cook. I'm guessing the fish fry is for the second day?
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

I love the Kassiks scottish ale, but it may not be 'in season' at the moment.   If you bring it - bring you favourite, with thanks !
