Count me in. I just heard about the Barbie Rod tourney yesterday at the Classic. I'll be headed to Wally's World today to choose my weapon.

I just picked up my weapons of choice.  I'm going to try out one of the new telescoping poles, and have an original fiberglass pole as back-up.  My old-style pole has some new tricks, though.  When you push the casting button, it plays fairy sounds!  That's sure to lure a monster halibut up from the deep. . . for as long as it survives salt water.

Cabela's in Anchorage is almost completely wiped out of braid of any description, so if you're looking to fill your new Barbie rod with braid you'll be best served to look elsewhere.

With the pros and cons of either heavy (strength) vs Light (capacity) I think it can be unlimited myself.  But I will abide by any rule.  I plan to use 15lbs main line..heavier leader if allowed.

I vote for no limit on line or leader test. The low capacity of the Barbie reel is already self-limiting.

I'm taking my granddaughter back to TX at the end of the week, but will return for the Barbie Tournament. She and I were in Cabela's the other day, and she saw the Barbie  rod/reel and asked me to buy it for her (she's 8 years old). At first I told her I already had poles that would be great for catching rainbow trout.....then I remembered the tournament, and said "wait, yes you can have the Barbie pole!"  It's been tried and tested (at least for rainbows, lol).
Can wait to get some heavier line and meet up with you guys on the 16th/17th! What are the rules for line weight?
