Well, I've pulled the trigger on a kayak.  After renting several, the PA, Revo, and Outback I decided that the Revo was the one for me.  I stalked Craigslist for several weeks and ended up finding a Revo 16 a short drive down the interstate in Eugene at a great price.  I was hoping to get one with reverse but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on a 2015 version.  It came with a decent fish finder and the outrigger setup as well as a pole holder and the tracks installed.

Hauling it in my short bed Tacoma with the bed extender.  After having it on there at this height I decided I like it with the T-bar adjusted to it's taller setting (~12 inches higher) which gets the stern and flag up about 2 feet higher and much more obvious for the person following me:

Maiden voyage out of Cathedral Park:

Here it is on the cart I built from a set of crutches my kid had to use:

Now I've got to get in the pool and learn self rescue, hoping to get up to the Vancouver Marshall Pool this afternoon or maybe hit Tualatin Aquatic center next Sunday.

Then I'll be hoping to tag along on some fishing trips with some of you!

-Lobo

For some odd reason I can’t see the photos I get a gray box with a white circle that has a - in it ???
 Once you got the warm water re-entry  figured out we can launch you in the bay and you can practice a few cold water entries in the safety of the harbor. Then it’s time to fish!

really weird but I saw the photos when the post was first made but now I only see the icon too.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Well, I gave it a go for a year and a half and decided I'm going back to power boats.

If anyone is interested I'm selling mine.

2015 Hobie Revolution 16 -$1900

Kayak is in excellent condition. And comes with a ton of extra's! Get out on the river or ocean tomorrow.

* Hobie Sidekick AMA Outrigger's
* Hummingbird Helix GPS/Sonar fish finder with mount
* GT Vantage Seat
* Mirage GT Pedal Drive with Turbo Fins
* 2 YakAttack GT90 8" GearTrac's
* Mighty Mount on rear hatch
* YakAttack Rod Holder
* Deep Center Hatch Bucket

This is a great fishing or cruising kayak. If you plan on going into rough waters or the ocean this is the one you want. The length gives you the stability and speed you want to break through the surf. If you want to put on the outriggers they make it practically topple proof .

If you were to go buy this setup new today it would be well over $3300: Kayak $2829 + Outrigger ($205) + Fishfinder w/ Mount ($210) + Geartrac ($40) + Rod Holder ($30)
