With B10 season upon us, I figure that now is a good time to share my absolute favorite way to catch salmon there.  This is as simple as salmon fishing gets and allows the fisher-person to be engaged thru the entire process of hooking their fish.

Enjoy!

Great video and info,Mark.  Looks like a great way to fish those big bait balls at high tide. Having witnessed this a few times,I'm surprised to see a pre extended net at hand. ;)

Truly awesome as always!   Is there one type of water or conditions that favor this over trolling ?

I'm surprised to see a pre extended net at hand. ;)

The video starts immediately after landing a fish.  The net had just been used and there was little wind so, no reason to collapse it.   ;D

What I don't say in the video is that you want to mooch thru the depth where you're marking fish.  I was fishing 20' of water and the fish were generally 4 to 7 feet off the bottom. With 10' of swing on each jig I was aiming for the bottom of my stroke to put my weight just above the sand.  In deeper water I'll target the 10' range where the fish are travelling.  Might be anywhere from on the bottom up to just below the surface.

Pinstriper, Thanks! You'll need to read the description that accompanies this video when you view it on youtube for your answer.

If I go to YouTube what would I use to find the video? I'm looking at this on an iPad and it doesn't give me tha actual link... Just embeds it.
