Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

So I just reread one of my posts on the first page of this thread:

"All I ask is that you choose a nice calm, sunny, Saturday for the derby. (Two out of three will do...I'm o.k. without the sun.) I don't ask much."

Two out of three was great. Add to that great company on the water, and on the beach, and you have the recipe for a very enjoyable day.  (Although I think I'll be paying for that long peddle against the current for a day or two. The knees are not happy...but I am.

Thanks for putting together a fun day.

I think it was mixed. Ryu, ripndrag, and I had a 15 minute flurry of 5 or 6 fish hooked.  Then we found it pretty consistent but slower.  Lots of bait on the sonars.

Hello,
I lost my iphone 6 plus in a ziploc bag on the beach. If you happen to have picked it up, please message me.
Thank you.
Dan.

Thanks for putting this on Rip'n'Drag.  It was a great time and it was awesome to meet everyone and get out on the water!  I'm happy to say I set a personal best of getting my biggest kayak-halibut with a barbie rod.  Hopefully that doesn't stand until next year  ;)

Here's a video.  Not my best work since I didn't double check the camera angle.  Because of that, I cropped out a bit of the video.  There is a bonus of our host, ripndrag's fateful hook up.  I've got $100 bucks for someone who can catch that rod again.  If you catch a kiddie rod attached to a halibut, you need to take pics and keep the entire set up (minus the halibut of course) for verification by Ripndrag.  So don't say what kind of rod it was yet, Mark.  lol.

Hello everyone my phone was found after being in the water for 24 hours. Also it's working. Thanks to Marion and Gary. Marion found my phone on the beach while cleaning his fish. It a beautiful thing when your fishing buddies find your cellphone in a ziploc out in the ocean.
Thanks everyone.
