After getting the boat in the salt ONCE this year, I found out this week that I'm going to be working overseas for the better part of the next five months.  There's another king stamp wasted.  At least I didn't pay the non-res price for this one.  Not really much else to say about it, I just wanted to vent to people that would get it.  At least I'm employed. .  .

That was my story for 2016. All work and only one trip. Glad I got to fish with you then and hopefully this fall.

Looks like I'm going to get one quick trip home in July, and be home again just in time for the moose opener.  It will be late September before I can get the tupperware wet again, IF they don't have me going back after moose season.  I'm sure there's light at the end of the tunnel, just gotta go find it.

Sounds like you are the perfect candidate for a Hobie inflatable to take with you! Rudy took one out on the Aleutian Chain on one of his business trips and got into rockfish.

Just hit the Kenai dipping to put some reds in your freezer before you depart again.

Don't fret about the King stamp. You need it on the saltwater for feeders all year long. And September - October - even November have some of the highest populations of feeders around the Spit. So from that timing perspective you will be hitting peak time.  And you will be able to make the Homer Elks King Derby to get you back in the swing of things. Lots to look forward to and you can always fish with the AK group vicariously til you hit the beach again.

We'll leave the light on for ya so you can find your way home!  :D

Ugh. Major bummer. But as KK pointed out, there is no closed season.  Safe travels and we will keep an eye on all the good launch sites for you!

Bummer. That king tag might not be wasted though. September and October were great for kings of the Spit last year. As you said, it's great to be employed.
