Saturday is shaping up to be another nice day for the salt.  I'll likely head to Depoe Bay that morning to continue exploring the reef and searching for flounder/sole hot spots.  The RF and ling bite was excellent a couple weeks ago.  Hope to see some fellow kayakers out there!

I may be heading that way on Saturday as well.  What time are you guys launching?  Little Cos is away this weekend, so I will be solo.

I'll likely launch around 0700 or 0730.  Bringing a friend who only has a little experience on a SOT, but if the forecast turns into reality, it should be a nice day for a newbie.  We'll both be in ivory dune Hobie Revo 13s.

Last time I was out of Depoe, I stayed south of Government Point.  This time around, I think I'll head further north to explore some deeper reef structure.  Does anyone know if there's deeper reef structure south of the harbor?

Assuming I get to go I'll probably put in around 6:30 or 7. I don't think I'll paddle all the way to government point though. I'll stay in close, maybe go a little south

Cool.  If it's anything like two weeks ago, you should have no problem mopping up big black RF and keeper lings close to port.  I just want to explore the area some more and see if there's more RF variety in the deeper waters.  Seems like those 50-60 foot deep reefs are strictly a black/blue RF, cabezon, and lingcod show.  What will you be paddling?

I look forward to hearing what you find out there! I'd venture farther, but need to get off the water by 11 or 12, so I don't want to spend much time padding around. I'll be on a camo trident 13. Hope to see guys there

I plan on going out of Depoe Bay early Saturday as well. I would be happy to connect with others and perhaps fish together some. I usually go South toward the point but open to other options.

Lil INSAYN and I are totally in for some Saturday Depoe action!    :icon_thumright:

Actually got all my "need fix during winter" projects on my Hobies done TODAY, as well as just finished replacing both wrist gaskets on Lil INSAYN's drysuit just now.

So stoked for the first salt of the year.
I really need to kill some sea kittens already.
