I've had good luck fishing the west side of San Juan island and off of Henry island. Watch your tides, the current gets ripping through the Haro straight, and there can be some sneaky waves from the cargo ships that pass through. Live kelp green lings are their favorite food in my opinion, but you can catch them on jigs, herring, or sand dabs. Possession sound is another good spot for lings, but expect a lot of competition from power boats.
