Klamath Falls Area Info Request

Hey, so...  I'm getting laid off and may qualify for the trade act and/or could still use my GI Bill so I'm considering going to OIT in Klamath Falls.  I know absolutely nothing about the area other than what I've found out about the school.  If anyone has an personal experience there (fishing or non-fishing, haha) I would love to chat for a few before I decide where to go to school.

I've been reading about Klama lake, and it sounds like there are some really big red band rainbow trout in there! I hope to make a trip down to try catching one soon!

I've lived in Klamath falls for 40 years. OIT is a great school, pretty sure it has a 100 percent employment rate for graduates. Life here is a little slower paced than other places, cheaper to live and if you like hunting and fishing this is the place. We have a hard time keeping DR's because there isn't the shopping or entertainment for their wives.
Klamath lake does have some very big fish, best time to fish is early spring or late fall. In the summer the fish go up the rivers and streams where the water is cooler. The Sprague and Williamson and also Rocky Point are where the fish are in the Summer. We also fish the lakes in the area, Four Mile, Diamond and Lake of the woods. But we have to travel to get to bigger waters. Every place is about 5 hours from here, Portland, Coast, Columbia. We diffidently  have a winter.run studs on our tires, plow snow in the driveway a couple of times, but don't have to mow lawns for 6 months of the year. PM me if I can help in any way.

The mountain lakes like Diamond and Lake of the Woods get super buggy. I don't get all the way over to K Falls very often, would like to learn to fish that lake sometime. I do like fishing the lakes downstream and the Klamath River. Lots of sunfish and some monster crawdads. Medicine Lake in California is really nice. It's definitely remote country. Lots and lots of outdoor opportunities and some great waterfowl hunting over there.
