It's been unusually quiet these past couple months. No doubt the fleet has had too many things on their plates to get out on the water. Well, IT'S TIME! The two day Homer Elks King Salmon Tournament is less than a month away now.

Mike Parish, the Elks organizer, passed on this information to announce. And again this year the best lady and best kayak entry command a special prize of their own. Kris Young took the ladies and best kayak money last year!  And remember the limit is two kings per day with no recording on your license from Sept. 1 through Mar. 31. So you could have up to 4 entries for a shot at the money, especially the closest to average fish weight prize which last year was $2 Grand.

I'll get a confirmation on the entry fee, which last year was $100 that covered both days.

Just to get your blood pumping, here are the results from last year's record-breaking turnout. 28 women participated out of 204 anglers. 372 kings were weighed in for a total of 3349.68 pounds. That's 1.675 TONS of fish in two days. Let's hope the kings start piling into Kbay and the Inlet during this month to give everyone some good shots at winning.
