Hi all,

I'm finally feeling like I can move my kayak around again.  Was thinking of hitting one or more of the small lakes in and around Ft. Stevens.  Anyone have any experience there?  I'm thinking I should be able to find some bass in Coffenbury Lake, maybe some leftover trout if I'm lucky.

We've had a couple of outings with HOW at Coffenbury and have always had good luck with trout but it's always been early in the season around the end of March.  We usually troll spinners.

You might want to try Lost lake by Elsie off hwy 26.  Easy launch. Should still be fish in there. Nice place to kayak.

Didn't even know lost lake existed.  Looks interesting.  Any other little lakes out there for warm water species beyond the obvious in this corner of the state?  Padding the Columbia and it's sloughs is great, but it's nice to get out of the current once in a while.

You can give Town Lake a try.  It's right outside of Pacific City.  Supposed to be some good bass in there.  There's also some nice steelhead that the ODFW dumps in once in a while, just ask Mojo  ;)

I have caught bass at Coffenbury.  I can't ever go back due to the PTSD of loosing a bass on my measuring board before the picture was taken and it would have put me two places higher in the AOTY that year.
