Hey all.

Im new here and looking to see if anyone has a yak that they are thinking about parting with. I am looking to pick up my first yak and am thinking that I would like to start with a 13'-15' paddle boat. I have looked at some new boats (tarpon 14 / thresher 14) but I am thinking that the value of a used boat to start out will get me set up and on the water quicker.

My plan is to spend time trolling in the willamette / columbia for salmon , casually fishing some high lakes while family camping and working up to some ocean fishing as I gain paddling experience. I am open to suggestions and really need everything at this point (except drysuit) so I am looking for anything from a bare bones set up to a fully rigged package.

Im in Troutdale (Greater Portland Area). Willing to travel a bit to pick up a good boat, but work and family is hectic the next couple of weeks so close to home is a plus.

Let me know what you have! Thanks!

Welcome to the site. Check the Classified section regularly. I believe there are some kayaks that meet your requirements listed right now.

Thanks for the link!-

Yeah I have been looking at that one and this one :

https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/spo/5396588358.html

Unfortunately both of them are a 3 hour drive and I just have a few things going that are going to make that impossible for the next couple of weeks. I am guessing that they will both be gone pretty quick. I had been looking at the Malibu that Polyangler just sold on here as well (that is what prompted me to quit lurking and get registered ;D , but that one sold before I would have been able to get up there as well)

Was hoping to find something similar to these a little closer to home if possible. I will keep pursuing the classifieds here as well as craigslist. Once we get to the middle of Feb I will have time to take a little road trip to pick something up if I cannot source local first.

My friend has a really clean Ocean Kayak Trident 15 with several Scotty rod holder bases installed and a Hummingbird color gps / depth finder.
I think he is asking $800 for the package and I could arrange meeting up in the Portland/Vancouver area.
