Hey all,

I'm taking my new-to-me Outback on a river for the first time this weekend (leaving Fri morning). I spent a few days on Billy Chinook last weekend (caught two Bulls), and I'm hoping to get a salmon on my kayak before it's too late. I'm looking to spend all weekend on the Klickitat.

1.) There's a county park just north of Lyle right on the Klickitat. Does anyone know if you can camp there? Or can you put your kayak in the water from there?

2.) Has anyone fished there as of recent? Any luck? And advice? ...Safety- or fishing-wise.

3.) Lastly, anyone want to meet up there? If that county park doesn't work for camping, I'll be heading up to Icehouse Campground to probably fish from the bank. Look for a blue Hobie Outback.

1. yes and yes.

2.  It's been good out front in the Columbia.  Plan on lots of company.   A mix of chinook and early run coho.  It's rained a bit the last few days probably triggering many to move up into the Klick proper.  Safety wise...wind, distracted powerboat captains, Tribal nets (should all be out right now), large woody debris in the Klick delta.

Hover fish eggs, troll both directions with prawn spinners on the bottom, 360 flasher with your choice of trailer, and plugs if you have room.

3. I might be out there, blue Revo 16, blaze orange "don't hit me with your power boat" hat.

Good luck Michel.

I just posted a report in The Mighty Columbia forum. Did well both trolling and hover fishing eggs this week. Heading home tomorrow. Good luck! [emoji106][emoji256]
