Hey everyone!

I got some awesome Advice from @mojojojo and I was thinking I would post a topic to the group to see folks who want to meet up for a group fishin out in Nehalem and Tillamook Bay.

I will continue to keep an eye on the forum here for group meetups, I just thought if I posted a topic asking people perhaps people may comment on here as well or navigate me to the threads people already have going for group meetups.

Tight lines -  ;D

I'm a newb to the salt, but I'd be interested in Tillamook as well. Been too scared to go alone.

Meeting is behind the fish cleaning station in Garibaldi (photos). Arrive early enough to push off at 0700 so 30-60 minuets before. Seabass and crabs are my usual target, perch and if someone wanted to salmon troll they could... I’m not. For the rock fish bring 1/4-2 oz jig heads (lancers work great), and berkley gulp baits white or shad/silver and black in two sizes 2-4 inch or so on crappie rigs (I hand tie mine) I drop Daniels traps no weight with 30 ft of line on them. If someone wants more details on rigging “pm” me a good cell number or email address and I’ll shot you more details.

Who else is planning to join in? Post up! This will be primarily bottom fish and crab traps, if a guy wanted to they could perch fish and salmon troll.

I'm totally in!!!

I'll get geared up for rockfish, I may bring a salmon rod just in case but that can stay in the rod holder if need be. I'll get my crab trap and line it up for 30 ft! Or, shoudl I line it up for 40-50 just in case or is 30 sufficient?

I look forward to meeting everybody!!!

-William

If you have 50 ft on your fineif it’s sinking line if not the PB’s might get tangled and cut your line. We drop in 12-20 ft at low tide.

If you are using the cheap poly braided rope that floats you can make it sink by adding an 8oz weight 10' below the buoy and attaching it with a hook, swivel, ziptie, etc.

Some pics from Sunday. It was a beautiful COOL day, however fishing was not very productive. Caught about seven Black Rock fish rather quickly, kept one cause I thought fishing was going to continue like this.... should have kept some of the others.
