I know they catch nice bass around those islands and up in the Yakima. If you take a little drive to the Columbia you will find really good small mouth fishing. Jim Davis Jimbob84? is out there and Magic Mike smokeyangler is out there too.

The Mighty Columbia / Tri-Cities in late April - what to chase?
« Last post by RoxnDox on Today at 01:16:20 PM »
Hi everyone.  My wife has a few days of Continuing Medical Edjamacation in Pasco next week, and I was given a kitchen pass to drag the kayak along to occupy my days.  Is there anything in particular that would be fun and productive to chase?  It would all be catch and release, assuming there’s any ‘catch’ taking place.

Thinking about exploring the islands around the mouth of the Yakima River - would I be in an environment for bass, walleye, panfish, etc?

Any advice and/or local info appreciated, or if anyone else wants to go out.

I'd have to talk with the other organizers, but I'd be interested in making the SBAOTD a qualifying event.

Sounds good Allen. Before or after I talk with the other organizers?

Allen - Not sure, but this might be worth looking into as a resource.

Joe Hector, who runs those tournies, is a regional director for us.

Then there's Art (upnorthtex). I think he was late '70's when I met him. He was inspirational with his ability and attitude.

I’m going out of Depoe tomorrow. Windfinder has the wind out of the north less than 10mph all day.

Got an east wind right now in Tillamook, so it should blow ya ON the water not off. Kinda breezy already, I wouldn’t want to be OTW right now.
